Bannerghatta Biological Park is one of the 5 parks around Bangalore. Located in the south of Bangalore at 22 km from the city, the Bannerghatta National Park is an asylum for a large variety of flora and fauna. Spread over a massive area of around 104.27 sq. km, this national park was established in the year 1971. As we like to move travel, discover and move around we have decided to visit a zoo and we opted to go Bannerghatta Biological Park and it was an excellent choice because we had great time there. We arrived there at 11 Am IST, being a foreigner I paid 400 INR (~=6 USD) for the entrée fee and my love as an Indian national citizen paid 80 INR (~=1 USD).
We went in the park perimeter and we were amazed, guided by a map and enjoying the walk through the wild nature we have seen Thamin deer, Hog deer, zebra, King Cobra, Crocodiles, Himalayan black bear, Panthers and various birds to name a few. In addition there is a Museum and an Auditorium for the visitors’ education. After capturing those magic moments we decided to go for boating, yes you heard me, boating. There is also a small lac in the park where you can enjoy a ride by pedal boat. We paid 6 INR (1 USD) for 30 min riding on the lac. Spending 30 min rounding around side by side was a great moment to live our love. So after that we were a bit hungry and we enjoyed the variety of Indian food available at the restaurant within the park. Later on it was the time for the Grand Safari. You can’t visit a zoo without exploring deep inside the nature. We paid 500 INR (8 USD) each to enjoy the safari in a comfortable and safe AC bus. During the safari, being sitting in the bus we could not touch them but we could see the wild range of protected animals since they come close to the bus. And whenever they come close to the bus we stop and capture the moment. It was a delight to see bear, lion, Gaur, Barking Deer, Black Buck, black tiger, white tiger and Indian tiger to name a few. Let me tell you that it was during the travel of 42 km deep inside the zoo we could see all the rare animals since the zoo is very big. After that, it was the end of the journey and we came back home with the wiling to visit again.
If you have a few bucks to spend, if you want to enjoy the wildness with your love’s one or with your friends or even with your family, Bannerghatta Biological Park is the place to go. And I recommend you to add it to your place to visit if you are in Bangalore or if you plan to come to Bangalore.
